At The Kosher Bakery, you will find a wide range of regular and continental breads, cakes and pastries baked fresh on the premises.

Our bakery items are fresh and natural and made the old fashioned way on the premises.  We do not use premixes.
* * Please note, that our bread does NOT, and never has contained the additive 282 * * 
(ie Calcium Propionate an anti moulding agent, used very frequently by bakery manufacturers which causes a myriad of health problems and behavioural symptoms).

Breads

We have our standard White, Wholemeal & Multigrain sliced and unsliced loaves.

Assorted size rolls include dinner rolls, large school lunch rolls, hot dog rolls, hamburger rolls, wholemeal & multigrain rolls, plus specialty rolls.

Try our very popular Granary Health Bread - filled with goodness and plenty of tasty seeds including linseed. Available at present on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (please order in advance to avoid disappointment). We also make a Health bagel using the same ingredients.

We bake specialty loaves such as fresh baked Challah, pita bread, rye bread, rye & caraway bread, Turkish bread and Italian style loaves, sourdough bread, olive bread and pumpkin bread, all baked fresh on our premises on various days of the week (ring to find out when and order!)

Challah

We are well known for our freshly baked Challah breads which we bake on Thursdays and Fridays.

We offer a complete choice:

• The regular plaited Challah, with either a sesame seed or poppy seed topping
• Our specialty - an Israeli-style upright Challah loaf - which many of our customers use for sandwiches.
• The traditional Sweet Challah (no seeds)
• Mini Challah and Challah Rolls made in the sweet challah style

Booking your Challahs in advance will ensure you won't get left out in the rush! We sometimes keep stocks of fresh-frozen Challahs for those who are unable to come in on Thursday or Friday.

Cakes and Pastries

We have a team of pastry specialists baking traditional Jewish cakes and pastries and nouveau cuisine items from around the world, specialising in Israeli, South African and European delicacies, including our famous Babkas (without the hair, for the Seinfeld fans!)

Regular treats include Bulkes, Borrekas, Danish Pastries, Croissants, Muffins, Lamingtons, Rugelach and other delicious specialties.

Have a relaxing Sunday morning brunch with friends and take home some bagels, Shmears and Danish pastries!
